Your Work Ethic Isn’t The Problem

Dave DaleyI can’t tell you how many well intentioned business owners I’ve met. Most of them are relatively new. I love their bright eyed, bushy tailed view of entrepreneurship when they first get into it. Unfortunately, I can assure you that sometime within the first two years, a lot of that spark will be gone. Rarely is it because they lack the enthusiasm and work ethic. The issue is that they assume enthusiasm and work ethic is all they need. Sorry…but that isn’t enough.

FACT: The hardest working business owner in the world will have an empty bank account without a dedicated focus on visibility.

Visibility doesn’t mean what you think it means. There are too many “gurus” out there insisting that you plaster your private life all over Facebook. “Check in” on Foursquare to let people know you’re at Home Depot. Post pictures of yourself on Instagram. Let me be clear…none of that is visibility. Nor will it dump money into your bank account.

Visibility is a phenomenon that few business owners ever achieve. The principles of visibility create a magnetic pull so powerful that customers and clients are drawn to you. They can’t help themselves.
